Stop Animal Cruelty in Hot Spring Co., Inc.

Is a new Humane Society incorporated in Hot Spring County, Arkansas. Our main goals are:

To stop animal cruelty by every legitimate means. Perpetrators will be issued citations or arrested and be brought before a judge to answer to animal cruelty charges.

To educate the citizens of Hot Spring County in the proper care of their animals: food, water, shelter, preventative and current medical care, and vaccinations including rabies (state law requires rabies vaccination be administered by a veterinarian). Education will also extend to schools, civic clubs and groups. Informational brochures will be available at all S.A.C. sponsored events.

To promote spaying and neutering of all dogs and cats in Hot Spring County in order to stop the overpopulation of pets, which includes but is not limited to strays, dumped animals, unwanted litters and neglected animals. A low cost spay/neuter program is available for those needing financial assistance.

To provide foster homes for animals which have been re moved from neglect and/or abuse situations. Some animals may be owner surrendered and be immediately ready to start journey to their new forever home. Many fostered animals are strays. Some may be held as evidence for a court case and a decision of their fate from a judge.

To raise money for medical care of the animals described in fostering above, and for operating expenses of the program.

Shep Misses His Family
Shep is a shepherd mix that was found on the side of the road on March 9, 2010 in Hot Spring Co and he had collapsed from exhaustion he is and older dog and moves slow but his very friendly and sweet. I am sure he misses his family and they miss him but no one has answered the found ads. He was checked by our vet and found to be in pretty good shape he is being fostered right now by a SAC member and will be up for adoption soon if his family doesn't contact us.

March 25, 2010..Shep my gentle giant crossed the bridge and will forever be missed by his foster mom.
